it's difficult to see bart as anything other than a monster. yes, he saved kevin's life. that was one decent act considering how he ruined the true love kevin had found with august. but bart previously threatened to sadistically kill august, a kid really, who had done nothing to him except fall in love with kevin. and bart man-handled and threatened ian skylar. ian is a lot of things and most of them i like, but he's not a brawler. bart has a consistent pattern of picking on people who he thinks is weaker than he is. so much for his so-called code of ethics he bragged to ashton about. and of course, his worst atrocity was killing two innocent babies who had cause bart no harm.
now folks love to minimize bart's vileness by saying that his intention was to kill brandon. but how does that make bart look better? i loathe brandon because he's a sanctimonious hypocrite who forgets that it was just a few years ago that he was all for doing some strange to facilitate his epic drug addiction. still, brandon's monumental flaws aside, he had done nothing to deserve bart killing him. when it's revealed that bart murdered melanie's children everyone will be coming after his neck: macen, jabril, and possibly even jarrell. bart thinks he's an invincible assassin; however, he can't defeat the whole town of easton and jabril and macen are not the ones to mess with on a good day. and shall we forget how jarrell beat chadwick to death with a hammer.
yes, in recent episodes, bart's presence may have been expanded, but he truly has been written into a corner. he's in the same position chadwick was in and i really loved chadwick. LOL. i miss him. i hope they bring him back again somehow. as for bart, there's no way this could happen, but i have a feeling that through some quirk of fate, bart is going to end up impregnating melanie since she's on a quest for a sperm donor. now the odds of that happening seem inconceivable since bart and melanie don't movie in the same circles. and then, there's the added complication that bart is GOLD-STAR, and unlike kevin, winston, christian, and jabril, has never been with a woman or had a desire for one. still this is triangle. if ashton could be buried alive by winston and at the eleventh hour be resurrected by kevin in a nick of time, any and everything is possible.
you know, now that i recall back: noah's arc never really had a villain except for PHYNE AZZ guy (benjamin patterson) who was in love with GORGEOUS AZZ trey. and they never brought guy back even though i don't think he was irredeemable. guy and quincy would have made a great couple. that's another thing that bothered me about noah's arc: they threw away beautiful men like it was nothing. KEITH HAMILTON COBB. how do you just throw away the most LUSCIOUS black man to ever appear on a soap opera including all my children and the young and the restless?
